GEARING TOWARDS CLIENTS' SATISFACTION

The Internal Quality Audit (IQA) Team of the region conducts audit on the management, core, support, and ISO core teams processes on September 20 & 22, 2022.

The audit aims to assess the effectiveness of the organization's quality management system (QMS) and its overall performance. Likewise, assess the processes being implemented and maintained, gearing towards the attainment of Agency's objectives and reaching the optimum satisfaction of the Filipino farmers.

FORTIFIED WORKFORCE

The Northern Samar Irrigation Management Office (NSIMO) conducted a Seminar Workshop on Work Attitude and Values Enhancement (W.A.V.E) on September 15-16, 2022 in Allen, Northern Samar.

The seminar-workshop was facilitated by two reputable resource speakers from the University of Eastern Philippines (UEP). Dr. Jannette T. Montallana, Administrative Officer V, gave lecture on “Pagkatao” and “Pagkaka-kawani” which discussions focuses on personhood and ethics in the workplace. Dr. Joy Presado, Assistant Professor IV, gave lecture on "Pakikipagkapwa-tao" and "Pagka-Pilipino" which delves on human relationship and the Filipino values enshrined in the constitution.

Engr. Ruby C. Tuan, Jr. highlighted during the flag raising ceremony this morning, that all employees should perform their individual commitments towards attaining the Agency's objectives.

He emphasized that being a civil servant, all should be responsible and committed in rendering the NIA's services to our relevant interested parties, especially the farmers, because every second counts.

REGIONAL VISIONING

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) together with other Government Agencies, State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and Local Government Units (LGUs), participated the Eastern Visayas Regional Development Plan (RDP) 2023-2028 Visioning Workshop on September 15, 2022 at the Felipina Hall, NEDA,Regional Office, Palo, Leyte.

UPSKILLING FOR A COMPETENT GENERATION

Four (4) Mechanical Engineering students of Eastern Visayas State University, Ormoc City Campus successfully completed the 240 hours of on-the-job-training (OJT) at the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VIII.

Regional Manager, Ruby C. Tuan, Jr. spearheaded the graduation on September 13, 2022 at the NIA VIII Training Center, expressing his high hopes that these students will graduate in their chosen field, be part of the NIA family in the future, and be one of the committed employees to perform the mandate of the Agency, which is to assist the farmers and improve their quality of life.

NIA TOWARDS ASCENDING CURVE

All NIA Region VIII officials, spearheaded by the Regional Manager, Engr. Ruby C. Tuan, Jr., convened to attend the teleconference via Zoom on the Performance Review Assessment for all ongoing Engineering Monitored Projects in Preparation for the 3rd Quarter FY 2022 Performance Review.

This activity highlights the implementation of projects within the budget, schedule, and of quality standard. Likewise, a collective effort of all NIAns to address issues and concerns affecting the prompt delivery of services.

Nurturing NIAns

Thirty participants from the Administrative and Finance Division attended the 1st batch of Computer Literacy Training Program conducted on August 30-31, 2022.

2nd batch and 3rd batch of the training will be conducted on September 1-2 and September 3 & 10, 2022, respectively.

This aims to capacitate employees with basic computer skills thereby increasing their professional competencies, resulting to increased performance and productivity and improved employee morale and satisfaction.

In progress: Making ISO a Way of Life

The NIA VIII desires to continue to adopt the standard of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) by making it a way of life.

Members of the region's ISO Planning Team, composed of all ISO team chairpersons, Irrigation Management Office (IMO) Managers, and Division Managers, convene to assess implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) adhering to the NIA and international standard. Likewise, discuss interventions and activities for its continuous implementation by integrating the system to the roles and responsibilities of every employee.
