Led by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region VIII Extension Office along with the 13 National Government Agencies, including the National Irrigation Administration Region VIII, two (2) Government Financial Institutions, and one (1) Academe convene today for a significant milestone as they ink the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the Pilot Implementation of the Framework on Strengthening the Philippine Agricultural Cooperatives Ecosystem.
The strategic goal for this initiative is to foster a resilient and sustainable ecosystem for agricultural cooperatives, significantly enhancing their growth and empowering them to play a vital role in ensuring food security.
CDA Assistant Secretary, Vergel M. Hilario, “We are losing in the battle of food security; we have to support our people and ourselves. We’re hitting two birds at the same time; we are helping the farmers, and we’re helping the poor at the same time we are helping ourselves,” he emphasizes.
