The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VIII launches the Kadiwa sa NIA on September 15, 2023, within the Northern Samar Irrigation Management Office (NSIMO) in Brgy. Dalakit, Catarman, Northern Samar.

This initiative is one of the directives of the NIA Administrator Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen, in support to the agenda of our President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Romualdez Marcos Jr., for sustainable farming, food security, and ensuring the availability and affordability of food in areas with high demand and in communities with low-income families.

The President of the Northern Samar Federation of Irrigators Association, Maryjane S. Celespara, and the Acting Regional Manager, Jaime C. De Jesus, spearheaded the ribbon cutting and launching of Kadiwa Stalls with the utmost support of other NIA officials, partner agencies – DTI, NFA, PAO, LGUs, PIA, and other media partners.

Representatives from other government agencies expressed their support and assistance to the Irrigators Associations to sustain this initiative.

Engr. De Jesus encouraged the farmers to seek assistance from TESDA, DTI, and other government agencies to adopt value adding processes for a higher income of their products/produce.

Kadiwa sa NIA will be replicated to other provinces of Eastern Visayas, in support to the whole-of-nation approach for alleviating the lives of the Filipinos dubbed as "Para sa Bagong Pilipinas".
