KADIWA SA NIA for the three provinces--Leyte, Northern Leyte, and Biliran

The Biliran-Leyte del Norte-Leyte del Sur Irrigation Management Office (BLNLS IMO) officially launched the KADIWA SA NIA for the three provinces--Leyte, Northern Leyte, and Biliran. 

Sixteen (16) Irrigators Associations participated the said activity with various agricultural products, such as, white rice, black rice, red rice, glutinous rice, egg, bell pepper, eggplant, corn, banana, cassava, gabi, squash, sweet potato, cucumber, pork and chicken meat, rambutan, sunkist, lanzones, santol, dried fish, corn, pechay, kalamansi, and other products for affordable prices. 

Kadiwa sa NIA is an initiative of Acting NIA Administrator, Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen, in support to the program of President BBM, to have accessible and affordable food for the community through producer-to-consumer way of market. It helps the farmers to gain more income in the absence of the middlemen. 

The farmer leaders and the NIA VIII Acting Regional Manager, Jaime C. De Jesus spearheaded the ribbon cutting and launching of Kadiwa sa NIA for three (3) provinces. It was assisted by other NIA VIII top management officials, and partner agencies--Jasmin C. Lintag, NFA VIII Regional Director; and Pedro Bimbo B. Tan, DTI VIII Chief of Staff representing its Regional Director. 

De Jesus emphasized to seek assistance from TESDA, DTI, and other Government Agencies to help the farmers embrace value chain of their products to gain higher income. 
The NIA management is looking forward for the sustainability of this initiative to help uplift the lives of the Filipino farmers.
