NIA AND DAR TURNOVER THE P30 MILLION WORTH OF IRRIGAITON PROJECT IN CAIBIRAN, BILIRAN

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) in partnership with the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program-Irrigation Component (CARP-IC), turnover the newly completed Cabibihan Small Irrigation Project (SIP) to fifty-four (54) farmer beneficiaries, 28 of which are agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs), of Cabacungan-Riverside-Cabibihan Irrigators Association (IA), Incorporated, led by Noli R. Lipalam.

This project aims to provide timely and reliable irrigation water to 115 hectares service area in Barangay Cabibihan, Caibiran, Biliran.

The CARP-IC Project Manager, Wilhelm S. Tiangco, spearheaded the turnover ceremony with the presence of the CARP-IC Engineering Division Manager, Alfred D. Amoloria, and Administrative and Finance Division Manager, Maida B. Mendoza, assisted by the NIA Regional Manager, Ruby C. Tuan, Jr.; DAR Regional Director, Atty. Robert Anthony P. Yu; Division Manager of Biliran-Leyte del Norte-Leyte del Sur IMO, Conrado M. Samson; Provincial Agrarian Reform (Leyte,Biliran), Atty. Daniel E. Pen with Josefina Corazon N. Turla; PARCCOM Biliran Chairperson, Rebecca V. Payos; Caibiran Municipal Mayor, Hon. Rhodessa D. Revita; and Barangay Cabibihan Chairman, Hon. Nelson G. Corpin.

Blessing of the Cabibihan SIP was presided by Rev. Fr. Richard Yurag. All IA members and officers, employees and staff of NIA and DAR witnessed the said event.
