SIGNING OF MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTADING FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FARMERS ASSISTANCE FOR RECOVERY AND MODERNIZATION (FARM) PROJECT

Twenty-one (21) government entities, including the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), state university, and local government units (LGUs), convened for the signing of memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the implementation of the Farmers Assistance for Recovery and Modernization (FARM) Project on February 21, 2024 at Felipina Hall, NEDA Regional Office VIII, Palo, Leyte.

This is in support to the agenda of President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, Jr. to lower the price of rice in the country, authored by the House Speaker and 1st District of Leyte Representative, Martin Romualdez.

This aims to converge government entities and maximize its existing services that would be beneficial to the Filipino farmers, especially on the rice production sufficiency and sustainability.

FARM will be initially implemented in the municipalities under the 1st District of Leyte--Sta. Fe, San Miguel, Alang-alang, and Palo.

Present during this activity is the Deputy Secretary General of Office of the House Speaker, Sofonias P. Gabonada, Jr.; Local Chief Executives; Regional Directors; and Heads and Representatives from various national government agencies.
