Training on First Aid, Basic Life Support and Disaster Management Orientation

National Irrigation Administration Region VIII - A training on first aid-Basic Life Support and Disaster Management Orientation was held at the NIA Regional Office 8 Training Center in observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month 2022. Participated by selected employees from the Regional Office, Biliran-Leyte del Norte-Leyte del Sur IMO(BLNLS IMO), Eastern Western Samar IMO(EWS IMO), Northern Samar IMO (NS IMO) and from the Satellite Offices, together with the subject matter experts from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Tacloban City, headed by Mr. Ildebrando Bernadas (CDRRM Officer), together with Mr. Samuel Quiño, Dr. Louie Niño S. Dela Rosa, Mr. Gerald D. Demasilan and Mr. Mark Joseph Bautista.

Region 8 has been frequently visited by natural disasters, which triggered the occurrence of natural hazards such as floods, landslides & storm surge. Through training programs emphasizing both first aid and basic life support method gives an impact on disaster preparedness in increasing assistance during emergency situations.

It emphasizes also the important role of disaster risk governance and the collaboration of all Filipinos to overcome this pandemic's challenges and build a green and resilient "new normal".
