CONTRACTORS FORUM AND KADIWA SA NIA IN NSIMO

Northern Samar IMO spearheaded the simultaneous conduct of the Contractors Forum and the Kadiwa sa NIA featuring the Bagong Bayaning Magsasaka (BBM) Rice on February 20, 2025, at NIA-NSIMO Compound, Brgy. Dalakit, Catarman, Northern Samar.

The NIA contractors’ forum is a regular activity conducted by this office to assess the performance of the contractors in their project implementation. It seeks to continuously monitor the progress, development, and accomplishments of each ongoing construction of irrigation systems within the province. This effort aligns with the thrust of NIA's Top Management to fast-track the implementation of projects, realizing its goal of providing sufficient irrigation water supply to the intended farmer-beneficiaries.

Highlight during the forum is the awarding of Certificates of Recognition to the outstanding contractors for completing their projects on or ahead of schedule. This initiative is taken to motivate and encourage our irrigation partners to expedite project implementation and always aim for the project's success.

The Kadiwa sa NIA event was held at the NIA-NSIMO Compound in Brgy. Dalakit, Catarman, Northern Samar. Despite heavy rains in the province, NIA staff led the sale of Bagong Bayaning Magsasaka (BBM) rice and other agricultural products sourced from irrigators associations. BBM rice is offered at a price of only 29 pesos per kilo to the members of vulnerable sectors, including senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), 4Ps beneficiaries, solo parents.

All of these efforts and initiatives are a testament and proof that the agency is on the front line of helping the government achieve its goal of agricultural productivity, rice self-sufficiency, and ultimately ensuring that all families have access to quality and affordable goods and services.
