With the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region VIII’s recent acquisition of georesistivity equipment and in line with NIA Administrator Engr. Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen 7-Point Strategic Policy Agenda, particularly on Capacity Building of Human Resources, NIA Region VIII conducted a week long Georesistivity Meter Training Workshop held August 12-16, 2024.
The training workshop aims to provide basic knowledge and foundational concepts of georesistivity and capacitate the participants field data acquisition with the use of the georesistivity meter, including data interpretation and use such information to optimize the planning, design and maintenance of irrigation projects.
Aside from the discussions, a hands-on training in field data acquisition methodologies was conducted during their 2-day field activity assisted by Ricardo Alzate Jr., a licensed geologist and an authorized trainer of Guideline GEO-ABEM in the Philippines.
The activity was participated by selected staff from the Regional Office, Biliran-Leyte del Norte Leyte del Sur IMO, Eastern-Western Samar IMO and Northern Samar IMO.
