In line with the thrust of the NIA Administrator Ricardo R Visaya, to complete previous years projects and to institute measures to improve delivery of NIA services, the Operation Department Manager, Delsy J. Revellame; Systems Management Division (SMD) Manager, Eusebio S. Villamanto; SMD Area Engineer, Louie V. Mendoza, and RO 8 CARP Monitor, Renzo M. Mercado, conducted a coordination meeting with NIA RO 8 staff headed by the Acting Regional Manager Ruby C. Tuan, Jr. on March 3, 2021.
The three (3) Irrigation Management Offices (IMOs)—Biliran-Leyte del Norte-Leyte del Sur IMO, Northern Samar IMO, and Interim Eastern-Western Samar IMO, reported CARP accomplishments of the region and progress of the previous years big ticket projects.
The team provided technical guidance to the NIA RO 8 project implementers to improve plans and ongoing activities for the previous years projects. They also recommended/suggested strategies to fast track project implementation, especially projects in Northern Samar—Bugko, and Catarman-Bobon Irrigation Projects (IP); and in Western Samar—Basey IP.
The NIA RO 8 commits to adhere on the recommendations for the attainment of the management thrusts anchored in the agency’s quality objectives.
